January 6, 2008

Dear ALSA Board and Members,

I hereby regretfully resign as President and Board Member of ALSA.  My goal since I joined the Board was to make this organization better and fair for everyone.  I am willing to personally endure criticism and threats against myself as a member of the ALSA Board, but not against my family and llamas as they did not make that choice.

The following is a transcript of a message I received January 4, 2008:

"Hi. This message is for Ken. I just wondered if you liked your animals and your wife real well because the first person that we're coming after is the old lady. You will resign from the Presidency of ALSA. You will sell your animals and you will quit. If not I will be eating them."

It is a very cowardly act to threaten a persons family members and llamas, and I will be pursuing this matter until the person or persons are prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law. I am hereby offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or person(s) responsible for threatening my family. If you have any information, please contact me or Sheriff Gene Mayo or Investigator Billy Wiley of the Hood County Sheriff's Department by calling 817-579-3307.

Ken Fenley
